Dharma Event / Keyways Remix
Put on by Nomade Productions, this past weekend was the Dharma party in Isla Mujeres, Mexico featuring Darin Epsilon and D-Formation, as well as Mexico locals House Definition and Nicolas Mar, and of course myself.
From the spectacular location on the beach, to the well-organized set up that included pristine Void sound, a perfectly lit up stage and amenities like clean port-o-potties that one usually longs for here in Mexico (while the usual dingy drug dealers were noticeably absent for one), this was without a doubt one of the best parties I’ve been a part of since moving here almost five years ago.
The team putting on did an amazing job from start to finish, rewarding more than 500 people with an incredible experience. Oh, and the music was pretty good too!
On my end, I was especially excited for this one, being the fifth time I’ve played a show with Darin, and once again getting the honor of playing the slot right before him. My 90 minute set, kicking off at midnight started with an almost empty dance-floor as people filed in, but ended with a full, responsive crowd.
In the many sets I’ve played over the years, I’m really proud of this one. It’s a journey of a few highs and lows that included some immaculately produced progressive tunes (thank you to all the talented producers out there making this great music!!) a couple of great “bring them up to date” remixes of old classics, as well as a new track of mine that I’ve been working on.
I was so excited about the mix that I came home the next day and promptly rebuilt it. You can listen and download it here from Soundcloud.
Thank you to everyone who came out that night, and to all of those who couldn’t make it, but that take the time to listen to this set. I’m definitely looking forward to the next event that these guys put on – whether I’m on the line-up or just attending!
Dowden – Keyways (Wes Straub Remix)
And, not to be forgotten, freshly out on Modern Agenda is my remix of Dowden’s “Keyways”. The original was a subtle, cozy arrangement of sounds and I did my best to carry that theme through into my version, which has received good support from the aformentioned Darin Epsilon, as well as Cid Inc., Tim Penner and more. Grab it off Beatport or stream it on Spotify using the links below.
