I just realized my last post was from January, just after BPM (and a sad one at that). Lots has happened here in Playa since then, and I’ve been lucky to be part of the ongoing music movement here, still being able to be part of great events. Let’s take a look at the past few months shall we?
With all the clubs worth mentioning closing down here, my little ongoing gig on the roof at Be Playa has become very important, and sought after. I’ve kept up playing a show there at least once a month, and have been able to carry on with bigger shows featuring the return of Cid Inc. back in April, and two shows with now good friends Amber Long and Robert Mason from Toronto in March. It was a pleasure to be a part of such great events on the roof!
Otherwise, I’ve kept a fairly low profile on the DJ front lately, just focusing on the rooftop gigs, the radio show which is creeping up to ten years, and getting back into production – starting with a remix for one of my favourite producers, Blusoul, which will be out on Amber and Rob’s Modern Agenda label this summer. Now into full production is a commitment and promise I made to a label I’ve been with for a long time, that at least two tracks would be coming their way in the next few months. I’ve got a big start on the first one and hopefully that rolls out into the next one, maybe two. It’s been nice to be motivated once again.
Thanks again to everyone who continues to support my music from near and far. Your comments and feedback are always nice surprises in my inbox, and really keep me going. I don’t do a lot compared to others around me, so it’s nice to know that there are ears waiting for those moments when I do.
